Mark Smith of Chandler didn’t make a hole-in-one, but he put his shot 3’10” from the pin to win the inaugural Mountain Rep – Chandler Horizon Rotary Club $100,000 Shootout Friday at Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler. Marty Finnegan of Mesa was second with a shot of 8’101/2”. The 10 closest shots to the 100-yard pin over a two-day period qualified to shoot for the $100,000 from 150 yards in the finals. The event was held in conjunction with National Aerospace Week.
